About Islamic Ethics 101/102

Islamic Ethics 101 and 102 Foundations and Applications offers a comprehensive exploration of the principles, theories, and practical applications of ethical conduct within the Islamic tradition. Through a series of engaging lectures and discussions, students will delve into the foundational aspects of Islamic ethics, beginning with an examination of epistemology and the sources of moral guidance.

The course will delve into ontology, illuminating the interconnectedness of existence and its implications for ethical considerations. Students will explore the various phases of human existence, gaining insights into the moral dimensions of life's journey.

Building upon this foundation, the course will investigate the concept of Wilayah (authority) and its implications for individual and societal ethical responsibilities. Through case studies and discussions, students will engage with real-world ethical dilemmas and explore ways to apply Islamic ethical principles to contemporary issues.

By the end of the course, students will have developed a more nuanced understanding of Islamic ethics and its relevance in navigating moral challenges in today's world.
